Australian producer and multi-instrumentalist MXXWLL have long been said to be one of the greatest hopes for the typical Westcoast sound. With “SHEEESH” he has now released his first official album.
G-Funk is without doubt an important part of the 17 songs, but MXXWLL achieves much more than just re-creating this era from the 90s. To limit him to this one sound would not do justice to this record because just as important as G-Funk are Future Soul / Beats or the playful Neo Soul sound of the Soulquarians.
This great produced album is rounded off by features from SiR, Ill Camille, Kyle Dion or Aloe Blacc (on a one-minute skit), among others.
