It’s important to us to show the different facets of Instrumental HipHop and not to focus on just one direction. Beat Lover stands for smooth Lofi Beats or relaxing Chillhop as well as for neck-breaking Boom Bap or experimental Future Beats. We put the beatmakers in the spotlight, from pioneers like J Dilla, Pete Rock, Madlib or Nujabes to the latest sound innovator who has just put his first beat tape on the net. From sample virtuosos to synthesizer madness, from classic jazz loops to the sound of the future – you can get it here at Beat Lover!

As much as we love rap and singing, Beat Lover is all about kicks, snares, synths or sample art (the only exception is the offbeat section in our blog).

Beat Lover originally started as an online radio station but since February 2020 we focus exclusively on the blog and our playlists. Our blog, as well as our Playists on Spotify, are updated regularly to keep you up to date on the latest releases in the Beat world.

By the way: we work completely independent and are not affiliated with any label or company. We feature what we like and what we think you might like as well. Music is the only universal language and we are very proud to feature talented artists from all over the world. What more can we say: We Love Beats!

Hi, my name is Fabian and I live in Zurich, Switzerland. It’s been a while since I fell in love with HipHop in the so-called Golden Era in the nineties. At first I was just a fan (and I still am today) soon I became musically active myself and also wanted to accompany the scene journalistically. Around the turn of the millennium I was co-founder of the first online HipHop magazine in Switzerland. A few years later I had the opportunity to turn my hobby into a profession and to work for various magazines (online and print) as a music journalist focusing on HipHop and soul as well as an editor in chief. During this time I had the pleasure of interviewing many of my favorite artists. Later I also had the opportunity to gain radio experience, first as music editor and later as managing director. After that I travelled the world for more than a year. Since my return to Switzerland I work for a digital music distributor. In order to live out my journalistic passion and my love for beats, I started in 2017 with the project Beat Lover, which finally went online in April 2019.
